Runner Safety is always top of our priorities in organising this great event and in recent years we have been managing an increasing concern from the Start to the Mountnessing Roundabout.  

Following a recent approach from Everyone Active, who manage the Brentwood Centre on behalf of Brentwood Borough Council, we have decided to move the base for the 2027 event to the Brentwood Centre. A new route, which is totally on rural roads has been established. Starting and finishing at the Brentwood Centre. Much of the 2026 route has been retained. (See New Route)

Discussions with Essex Highways are taking place to establish the feasibility of closing the whole route for the duration of the event.​
